Only a few more weeks till school is out and I am ready to be able sleep in on weekdays (however I probably will wake up early anyway) and to be able to sit back, relax, and read a book.  I have an issue however, I can’t decide what to read first because there are so many choices. So when the assignment was to write a summer book list, I knew it would help me decide what to read. So here is what I am reading over the summer.

The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien.  I’ve read The Hobbit and it is now one of my favorite books, so since this is the book that follows, I’m ready to dive right in.  Also Tolkien is a brilliant writer and puts so much depth into his symbolism and characters’ personalities.

Ungifted by Gordon Korman.  In Library we read the first couple chapters and I knew I was going to read it this summer. I thought it was funny and sarcastic while at the same time a new concept for a book.

The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis.  Lots of my friends were reading the amazing work of C.S. Lewis and they loved it, so I decided to read the first book in the series and so far it is going well.

Harry Potter by J.K. Rolling.  Like Narnia my friend have been reading it and I know how big its fan basis is and how much they love it so I’m ready to go.

The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart.  I read Graham’s review of the novel and I fell in love with it. It sounds so mysterious and it also reminded me about A Wrinkle In Time.

The False Prince by Jennifer A. Nielson.  The cover of the book drew me in, so I asked Mrs. Herr and she said it is a great book and I would enjoy it.
