GRAHAM REFLECTS ON OUR 1st SEMESTER…

Three times a week we do Eagle Up. Eagle Up is a 50 minute class of reading books, posting blogs on The Reading Eagles, and writing reviews. We also play Math Pentathlon games. As we read our books, we journal about it. We write of main events, words that we don’t know or we think are interesting, and write down quotes we like. The biggest challenge for me in this group is getting my book done on the day I’m supposed to, because I’m a slow reader and Mrs. Herr pushes us to get them done on a certain date that she thinks is challenging for us.  I have grown the most  in not using words over and over again in my blogs, and using stronger words for words that are plain.  My favorite thing about Eagle Up is Mrs. Herr, because she is kind and she encourages us.  Also, she pushes us to get better in our reading and writing.  The thing I enjoy about The Reading Eagles blog is that we have our own little page about ourselves that tells about us.  Also, you can click on a certain book and all the posts and reviews come up about that book.  The Math Pentathlon game I like the most is Remainder Island because it is the easiest game and I like how you move to the islands and dock “treasure.”  The area I hope to improve on next semester is not taking so long to read my books.
