NICOLE’S REFLECTION ON FIRST SEMESTER…

Eagle Up is a time during the day when 5th and 6th grades break into groups to be challenged.  In this Eagle Up class, we read a book, blog about it on The Reading Eagles, and play math games. I have been challenged in many ways. My biggest challenge is writing a review with great words that make people want to read it.  I have learned throughout this semester how to dig deeper when writing a blog post or review and how to be a better writer in general.  Our teacher, Mrs. Herr, has us correct our mistakes so we can learn from them to make us better writers.  I love to blog about the book I am reading; I think it’s a lot of fun.  My favorite thing about The Reading Eagles blog is sharing exciting parts in our books, important characters, and what we think about how the characters are acting.  My favorite Math Pentathlon game is Juggle.  Juggle is almost like Blockus except you and a partner are trying to fill up one board while the others are on their own board.  It takes a lot of thinking to know where to place the certain pieces.  I hope to improve on everything I have learned so far, but I really want to improve on my writing.  I enjoy writing and I hope to write when I’m older, so if I improve now, I will be better in the future.
