RACHEL REFLECTS ON THE FIRST SEMESTER…

Journals, books, and sticky notes.  That’s what I have learned to carry around with me everywhere.  My journal for writing, my book for reading, and my sticky notes for my random thoughts that I have to jot down.  My Eagle Up teacher, Mrs. Herr, has taught me so much from writing to math.  We get to play math games and log on to laptops to share our own self-written reviews, all because of Mrs. Herr.  She has challenged me to a whole new level, especially with my note taking.  I now can take proper notes full of deep thoughts and important information.  Although at first it was hard to take so many notes, I quickly learned how helpful they are when you are reviewing books.  I feel that I have grown the most in my writing.  Before I started writing posts with Mrs. Herr, I was just an average writer, but now I am excelling in my in-class writing projects.

Eagle Up has been so much fun so far.  Our group gets together and we write posts and play math games.  I don’t know why but I find learning fun.  Unusual, I know, right?  My favorite math game we play is Juggle, like almost everyone else in my group.  Juggle is sort of like Blockus, except you don’t have 1 specific color of the tiles you use.  I am hoping to improve on my journaling; even though I am doing fine on them, you can always do better.  Until next time…
