Mysteries are everywhere in Robert Louis Stevenson’s book Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Dr. Jekyll, a doctor with a wide range of friends, writes a will stating that he leaves everything to a man named Mr. Hyde, a known murderer who is anything but loyal. Mr. Utterson, Dr. Jekyll’s lawyer, is confused on why his clients odd request and is determined to find out the truth about Mr. Hyde.
In my opinion, this book’s cover was very eye-catching to look at. I was definitely confused about what was happening in some of it. This book is exciting and in some parts freaky. It is very mysterious and hooks you till the point to where you can’t put it down. The way the author wrote it was somewhat perplexing; it was a dreary world with dreary people.
I recommend this book to readers looking for a challenging novel. I honestly don’t think a fifth grader would understand it at all, so I recommend it for ages 12+. If you like spooky and mysterious books, you will love this book.
